Voting Information

Woolwich Township contains five voting districts.

  • Voting District 1 currently votes at the Woolwich Township Fire Substation Building, across from the Municipal Building at 121 Woodstown Road
  • Voting Districts 2 and 3 currently vote at the Kingsway Regional High School Media Center (Side entrance facing "The Bank")
  • Voting Districts 4 and 5 currently vote at the Charles Stratton School on Frederick Blvd.

Your voter registration card will indicate in which voting district you belong.

Voters must be registered 30 days prior to an election. Voter registration forms are available at http://www.gloucogop.com/reg.html, or from the Woolwich Township Clerk (467-2666), public libraries, and other locations. If you are not sure what district you are in, call the Township Clerk.

Primary Elections are held the first Tuesday in June. To vote in a primary election, you must be registered either Democrat or Republican. If you are registered as Undeclared you can declare a party affiliation at the polls if you wish to vote in the primary.

General Elections are held the Tuesday that falls between November 2 and November 8.  For 2007, it is November 6th.

For the primary and general elections, the polls are open from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Many new residents register to vote at the Motor Vehicle Services. Please be advised that MVS has been somewhat sluggish on submitting these registrations to the Gloucester County Board of Elections, so we recommend that you complete a voter registration form and mail it yourself to assure trouble-free voting, even if you have already completed a registration at MVS. Also, if you would like to specify a particular political party (we hope Republican!), please include a party designation form with your registration application, otherwise you will be registered as an Independent.

If you will be out of the state or otherwise unable to vote at the polls, you may request an absentee ballot from the Gloucester County Clerk by calling 853-3243. Your request for an absentee ballot must be submitted no later than 7 days before the election.

It is very important that you vote. Recent elections have been decided by only a few votes! Here in Woolwich, your vote really does count!
